Design Guidelines

Brochures can be folded in several different ways, each suited for different types of content and presentation styles. Here are some of the most common brochure folds:

Bi-fold (Half-fold)

A single fold down the center creating two panels (front and back).
Offers a clean, professional look—ideal for presentations, product sheets, or simple menus.

Tri-fold

The most popular brochure fold; the paper is divided into three equal panels and folded in a "C" shape.
Great for step-by-step info or breaking content into sections like services, pricing, and contact info.

Z-fold

Similar to a tri-fold, but folds in a zig-zag pattern; all panels are the same size and open accordion-style.
Good for brochures that are meant to be read left to right, like a timeline or explanation of a process.

Gate Fold

Two side panels fold inward to meet in the middle, like closing gates; when opened, a large central panel is revealed.
Ideal for showcasing a single product, image, or bold message.

Accordion Fold

Similar to a Z-fold but has 4 panels per side, instead of 3 panels.
Expands like an accordion, allowing extended content or step-by-step instructions.

Double Parallel Fold

The paper is folded in half, then folded in half again in the same direction.
Creates four panels on each side, great for content-heavy brochures or product catalogs.

Roll Fold

Each panel folds inward on top of the next, like rolling up a poster.
Provides a clear path for storytelling or presenting information in a logical order.
